The wedding program in a nutshell
In the morning of the 28 Dec, we all arrive in Pondi, and, for those of us already there, we move into St. James court and can enjoy the beach right in front of the resort, play games on the green lawns or take a bike into town. After lunch and resting time, we will have a "Sangeet" at the resort terrace, directly overlooking the beach, there will be mattresses and cushions, we will sing, dance and have fun while some may get a henna drawing on their hands. If you want to perform something, recite poems, sing derogatory songs about the bride&groom, etc. that's the place for it.
The 29 Dec is the main wedding day. For those who are not too tired from singing the night before, there will be yoga on the beach early in the morning. After breakfast, there is again time for activities. An organization in Pondi offers heritage walks through the town, others may opt to be dropped at a central point and wander around or have a coffee at the scenic Le Cafe' at the Pondi city beach front. In the afternoon, we'll return to the resort, rest a little, and then go for the actual wedding celebrations. There will be a tailor-made ceremony and vows followed by dinner at a hill top place, called Mango Hill. We'll have a Indian-and-French deluxe dinner, those who want can have a night swim in their gorgeous pool, and late in the night head home for a good night's sleep.
At this point, the "wedding" is done, and we all leave the resort but the fun continues. If you can stay in Pondi another day or even a couple of days, we plan, with a small group of our fun friends (you of course included) to go for a treasure hunt in the dark forests around Auroville/Pondicherry, either on bikes or scooters and have a fun day together. Those staying longer, we'd love to bring in the new year with you in Pondi!

Das Hochzeitsprogramm
Am Morgen des 28. Dezembers viele Gaeste, v.a. Richas Verwandte aus anderen Teilen Indiens reisen an. Diejenigen, die schon vor Ort sind, koennen den Vormittag am Strand, mit Spielen auf dem Rasen oder mit kleinen Ausfluegen in die Stadt verbringen. Nach dem Mittagessen und einer kleinen Siesta haben wir eine "Sangeet" am Abend. Auf der Terrasse des Resorts, die unmittelbar ueber dem Strand ist, wird eine Matratzen- und Kissenlandschaft aufgebaut sein. Wir werden singen und tanzen und Spass haben, waehrend einige (weibliche) Gaeste Hennaformen auf die Haende gemalt bekommen. Dies ist auch Zeit und Ort, falls Ihr etwas auffuehren wollt, Gedichte rezitieren, abwertende Lieder auf Braut&Braeutigam singen wollt....
Der 29. Dezember ist der Haupthochzeitstag. Diejenigen von Euch, die nicht zu erschoepft sind vom Singen am Abend zuvor, koennen den Tag mit Yoga am Strand beginnen. Nach dem Fruehstueck ist nochmals Zeit fuer Aktivitaeten. Eine Organisation in Pondi bietet historische Kulturspaziergaenge an, andere von Euch moechten vielleicht lieber frei in Pondi umherlaufen, oder einen Kaffee im schoengelegenen Le Cafe' an der Stadtstrandpromenade trinken. Am Nachmittag geht's zurueck zum Resort, wir ruhen uns etwas aus und dann geht es zu den eigentlichen Hochzeitsfeierlichkeiten. Es wird eine besondere Zeremonie geben (hier noch keine Details!), gefolgt von Abendessen auf einem Berg mit Blick ueber Wald und Strand, names Mango Hill. Es gibt ein Deluxe Abendessen mit Indischer und Franzoesischer Kueche und wer will, kann im tollen Swimmingpool relaxen. Spaet in der Nacht geht es dann nach Hause fuer die notwendige Muetze Schlaf.
Nun ist die eigentliche Hochzeit vorbei, und wir verlassen das Resort, aber der Spass geht weiter! Wenn Ihr noch einen oder mehrere Tage in Pondi bleiben koennt, planen wir mit einer Gruppe von Freunden (Dich eingeschlossen), eine Schnitzeljagd in den dunkeln Waeldern um Auroville/Pondi, entweder mit Fahrraedern oder Motorollern. Und es waere super, wenn Du fuer Sylvester in Pondi bliebest und mit uns ins neue Jahr feiertest!
